Install N1ED extension for Joomla 3

Looking for Joomla 5 or 4 installation?

Joomla 3 reached its end of life in 2023, and this legacy package keeps N1ED working on the sites that still run it. It installs N1ED as a Joomla editor: TinyMCE with Bootstrap blocks and grid, widgets, the file manager and the image editor, all configured for one API key in the Dashboard.

  • Install Joomla 3 extension​

    Open Extensions → Manage → Install and drop the package onto the Upload Package File tab: the installation starts by itself.

  • Set API key​

    Open Components → N1ED Content Editor, press Set API key (Change in older versions of the extension) and paste a key from your Dashboard. No account yet? You can register one there for free.

    The key links your site to its configuration in the Dashboard: the toolbar, widgets, blocks and the file storage.

  • Enable N1ED​

    Make N1ED the default editor: open System → Global Configuration, choose N1ED in Default Editor on the Site tab and press Save.

  • Edit articles with N1ED​

    Open Content → Articles → Add New Article: the article text opens in N1ED.

Configuration​

The extension keeps only the API key. The toolbar, widgets, Bootstrap blocks and the file storage are configured for that key in the Dashboard.
