Install N1ED add-on on CKEditor 4

There are two simple ways to install N1ED into CKEditor:

Install CKEditor and add-ons from the scratch

When you start a new project you might want to install both CKEditor and N1ED add-on using our CDN. Benefits of this way:

  • Always the latest version of official CKEditor 4 build
  • Always the latest versions of N1ED and related add-ons
  • Visual configuration using Dashboard is auto applied to this installation

All you need to do here is to load whole CKEditor from our CDN and initialize it mostly as before. Use this code to do it:

<div id="editor"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
    window.onEditorLoaded = function() {
        CKEDITOR.replace("editor", {});
    }
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
        src="https://cloud.n1ed.com/cdn/N1EDDFLT/n1ckeditor.js"></script>

That's actually all. Now you can use your CKEditor with N1ED. To configure it and enable other plugins please use free personal Dashboard.

Install add-on for your existing CKEditor

When you already have CKEditor installed, you can just install N1ED add-on for CKEditor. You will have the same benefits like in previous way, except auto updating CKEditor (you control it yourself):

  • You control and update CKEditor manually
  • Always the latest versions of N1ED and related add-ons
  • Visual configuration using Dashboard is auto applied to this installation

In order to install this add-on for CKEditor, download it from your Dashboard:

... unpack it into plugins/ directory and enable it in config.js:

CKEDITOR.editorConfig = function(config) {
    config.extraPlugins = "N1ED-editor";
    config.apiKey = "APIKEY";
}

or if you use JS initialization code instead of configuration file:

CKEDITOR.replace("editorId", {
    extraPlugins: "N1ED-editor",
    apiKey: "APIKEY"
});

Add extraPlugins option if you do not have one. If this option already exists in your config you pass to CKEditor, just append N1ED-editor to existing configuration like plugins: "somePlugin,N1ED-editor"

That's it. Now you are ready to use N1ED. Confiuration set in Dashboard will be applied to your installation any time you save it, and your installation will automatically apply it on next load.
